“O tranquil soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], and enter among My [righteous] servants and enter My Paradise.” (Quran 89:27-30)

With hearts believing in God’s decree and destiny, the Amiri Diwan mourns the passing of the great leader of the nation, His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God have mercy on him, who passed away this morning, the 27th of Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to July 12, 2026, at the age of 74.

May God shower the great leader of the nation with His boundless mercy and forgiveness, and grant him a spacious place in Paradise with the prophets, the righteous, the martyrs, and the virtuous—and how excellent a company they are! May God reward him on our behalf with the best of rewards for the great and enduring deeds he performed for his nation and the Arab and Islamic world, and may He grant us all patience and solace.
